Stone of Steel, Worth the Hype!

If you're like me, you don't have easy access to a Stone of Steeltm, but you've probably seen them on your Instagram feed or in strongman competitions. You're probably curious how different they are to a regular atlas stone, and if you need to train with one. I was fortunate enough to train with Pro Strongwoman Jessica Kite, who (OMG) owns her own Stone of Steeltm! I am excited to share my experience to help anyone who may be wondering what Stone of Steeltm is like. There are also a couple worthy articles out there and a video tutorial, which...

Athlete Interview - Samantha Coleman

I had the honor and pleasure of sitting down to talk to recently crowned Pro-Strongwoman Samantha Coleman for an exclusive interview about her life as an inspiring female strength athlete. Samantha was candid and open and I think you'll even hear some previously unreleased information! It was amazing to get to know her! I especially loved what she had to say to her critics. I didn't share them too publicly because I didn't want the pressure on myself. But those within my close circle of support (I love you all) know this was a big meet for me.First, it was the Arnold. This was a really big deal to me...from where I've come from. I was the girl growing up who was not an athlete...who struggled with her weight and body image and all that crap and found something in...

Feels PR - Meet Recap

The weeks of training leading up to my UPA powerlifting meet were spot on, I was nailing new PR's and hitting numbers consistently. My deadlift was consistent at 365, bench strong at 165 (I had even hit 180# in training), and squat strong at 330-340# with depth sometimes being an issue. I had my openers ready and written and I felt very confident going in. I made weight, carb loaded, re-hydrated and was feeling good. I got a great night's sleep and had a great breakfast the morning of the meet. Our team worked on warming up and squats felt...
